Your kitchen

I think you would laugh if you knew that I thought of you today whilst I was cutting grapes in half. It's the daft little things like that which remind me of you! Breakfast at Lorimers always consisted of carefully chopped, beautifully presented fruit, an erray of cereals and yoghurts and choice of various teas which you would have begun preparing while your guests still slept. As I now stand in my own kitchen diligently chopping and arranging a platter of fruit or making a pan of soup, stopping momentarily to catch something on the TV, I smile as I know that they are traits which originate from you and I love that! Staying at your house was always so lovely. Your desire to please everyone meant that you were always 'bustling' in and out of the kitchen checking and double checking that everyone was fed and watered. You had an amazing ability to prepare a banquet of food and still manage to ask everyone how they were and catch up with their news. I miss those family gatherings and I only wish I could invite you over for dinner so I could now wait on you hand and foot...it would of course be a mere drop in the ocean for all the times you did that for me. Miss you Aunty P. Caroline xxx
